The Essential American Citizen: Your Voice Matters

With President Trump’s victory, we are at a pivot point teeming with potential. This moment isn’t just an opportunity; our duty as citizens is to actively engage in foreign and domestic policy processes. Let’s remember that the essence of a true republic lies in the people’s power. The term “republic” comes from the Latin res publica, meaning “public affair.” Unlike a monarchy or oligarchy, the people hold the reins through the representatives we choose.

Be the Essential American Citizen! Make our democratic system show us all; your participation is vital to guarantee it speaks for every citizen. This is your chance to steer the course of our country. Make sure that policies help all of us, not just a privileged few.

We can break free from the suffocating grip of liberal policies. These policies have kept our nation in chains for far too long. Since 2001, the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria have drained nearly $8 trillion from our resources. They have also resulted in the loss of almost 1 million lives. The victims include innocent civilians, brave soldiers, journalists, and humanitarian workers. When we account for indirect casualties, that staggering figure leaps to approximately 4.5 to 4.7 million lives lost, coupled with an extra 38 million displaced from their homes due to these reckless decisions.

Under President Trump, we have a chance to challenge the status quo. This transcends political party lines; this is about you reclaiming your sovereignty as a citizen of this great nation. Let’s cast aside those foreign entanglements that serve only the elite. We should embrace a foreign policy rooted in common sense. It must be aligned with our core values.

We must heed the wisdom of the late Realist National Security Advisor Jeanne Kirkpatrick. We should also learn from the conservative and famed journalist Walter Lippmann. They offer guidance as we navigate our future. In the wake of the Cold War, Kirkpatrick implored us. She urged us to reevaluate our global presence. Instead, we should focus on revitalizing our nation. She rightly asserted that foreign policy should be subordinate to domestic priorities. A true democracy is defined by justice and opportunity. It is characterized by a commitment to the well-being of all.

Once the Cold War ended, we had a golden opportunity to focus on building a loving, safe, and united society. But we squandered that chance, continuing to funnel billions into foreign conflicts catering to distant elites. Enough is enough!

We can’t continue allocating taxpayer dollars to agendas the American people have not endorsed. Our government must mirror our values. We must unify our voices to approve foreign policy initiatives. Great aspirations, including fostering global democracy, should not compromise our core American interests. Combating hunger is important, but not at our expense. Urgent situations need deviation, but our priority should always be you, the American citizen.

Let’s get real: foreign policy can’t stay the exclusive domain of a select few experts. Yes, it requires specialized knowledge but must be subjected to democratic oversight. The American people have every right to direct our leaders on matters that profoundly affect us.

Elected officials must recognize their dependence on you, the American citizen! They should never shy away from accountability for their foreign policy choices. These discussions must not linger on the sidelines during election campaigns; they must be at the forefront. The essence of democracy demands our active engagement in these critical conversations.

Today, the U.S. stands at a crossroads. Now is the time to reclaim our voice and demand accountability from our leaders. We must advocate for policies that elevate American interests!

Walter Lippmann reminded us that foreign policy must balance commitment with practical realities. A mature power,” Lippmann wrote, “will make measured and limited use of its power. It will eschew the theory of global and universal duty, which not only commits it to unending wars of intervention but intoxicates its thinking with the illusion that it is a crusader for righteousness.” The immaturity of our post-Cold War leaders is glaringly obvious!

We lost that balance, and it’s high time we rectified this course. The future of our Republic hangs in the balance, relying on your engagement and unwavering dedication to reclaiming it.

Guidance for the American Citizen: Navigating a Changing World

As we witness a shift in global dynamics, it’s essential to grasp the implications of these changes. Here are some crucial points you must consider:

1. Changing Global Power: We are witnessing a decline in a world dominated by one or two superpowers. Multiple nations compete for power and resources, creating a breeding ground for conflict and instability. Acknowledging this reality is imperative as it shapes our foreign policy landscape. We must make our Nation strong!

2. Rethinking American Leadership: We are one among many voices! The long-held belief that the U.S. can effectively lead the world through democracy and free trade is proving less effective than imagined. Globalization has benefits, but it has also diluted our values and influence. Nations like China and Russia are gaining strength and resistance to U.S. leadership. We must reevaluate our approach to international relations and recognize our limits.

3. Prioritizing National Interests: Now, more than ever, we must focus on our own authority. We also need to tackle the needs of American citizens. This calls for a radical departure from outdated policies that don’t serve our best interests. We need a renewed approach that prioritizes independence, strengthens our economy, and keeps us out of needless foreign conflicts. Putting America first means ensuring domestic concerns take precedence.

Again, be that Essential American Citizen! Your awareness and participation are crucial in this evolving landscape. Engage with these ideas, voice your concerns, and advocate for a national policy aligned with America’s best interests. The future of our nation depends on informed and engaged citizens like you.

Stand Up, Essential American Citizen! Your voice must be heard! Let’s chart a new course together, fortifying the foundations of our democracy and ensuring it remains strong and resilient. The time for action is now!
